On 29-31 October 2025, the consortium of DIONYSUS, the PRIMA project coordinated by CIHEAM Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAMM), met at the Institute of National Planning (INP) in Cairo, Egypt. Over three days, the partners reviewed the progress of the project, strengthened synergies and co-designed strategies for a more resilient Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus across the Mediterranean.
The discussions covered the integration of modelling chains and socio-economic assessments, the progress of the project’s Living Labs and Action Panels, and joint pathways with related projects and initiatives such as WEFE4MED, FrontAg Nexus, AGREEMed, EXCEL4MED and the PRIMA Partnership.
The Laboratory took part as a project partner: together with TOEB Tavropou Karditsa, the local land reclamation organisation, it runs the Greek Demonstration Site of DIONYSUS in Karditsa. The meeting closed with a Think Tank round table that laid the foundations for a WEFE Nexus approach in the Mediterranean area.
We warmly thank all partners for their dedication and energy, and our hosts at the Institute of National Planning for their hospitality.
