About the project
The project organised local value chains, supported producers’ development projects and opened new markets, delivering around one hundred activities across the pilot regions of Thessaly (Greece), Sicily (Italy), Alexandria and Beheira (Egypt), the Bekaa (Lebanon) and Bizerte–Beja (Tunisia): local diagnoses and strategies, training for more than 150 dairy-sector actors, an innovation contest, a white paper and a Mediterranean network of dairy clusters.
In Thessaly the work led to the cluster Terra Thessalia Lactis, bringing together cheesemakers and farms, livestock cooperatives, cooperative banks, research centres, professional organisations and local municipalities around the region’s typical dairy products.
