The collaboration between the GREENCOOP project and its Chinese partners was launched with a bilateral academic seminar at the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of Renmin University of China, in Beijing, on 6 July 2026 — delivered as the third lecture in the School’s series International Academic Frontiers in AgEcon.
Professor George Vlontzos represented the Lab, presenting “The new European agricultural policy scheme and the Living Lab mechanism for technology adoption”: the two-pillar structure of the Common Agricultural Policy and the role of the Living Lab as a mechanism for co-creating and adopting agricultural technology, situating GREENCOOP within this framework. Professor Guo Leifeng (Agricultural Information Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences — CAAS) presented the advances of Chinese smart-agriculture technology.
The discussion confirmed a strong alignment between the GREENCOOP water and nutrient priorities and the Chinese smart-agriculture and green-development agenda, and established the working relationship between the University of Thessaly, as leader of the project’s Living Labs work package, and CAAS, which manages the two Chinese Living Labs of GREENCOOP — the first step towards the broader engagement that followed at CAAS.
