On 23 September 2026, Professor George Vlontzos, Director of the Lab, will take the main stage at the FAO Global Conference for Actions on One Health in Agrifood Systems, held at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome on 21–23 September 2026.
He will present an agrifood innovation developed by the Lab as a result of the Horizon Europe project NATAE, before an audience of more than 1,000 policymakers, investors and industry leaders from around the world.
Under the theme “One Health in agrifood systems is everyone’s health, everyone’s responsibility and everyone’s action”, the conference brings together global leaders, technical experts and partners to turn the One Health approach into practical action across agrifood systems: food safety, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, biodiversity, policy and investment, together with innovations that advance One Health in practice.
It is an opportunity to show how research carried out in Thessaly, together with our partners in NATAE, can contribute to more sustainable food systems. More news will follow after the conference.
